Aaron was a street poet. His words are vivid and hard. He heard voices from early childhood. And his voice was always a tapestry all of its own. He was born into a family that was totally unprepared and made some less than helpful choices in their efforts to help him.
Aaron started writing a book on his experiences about 10 years before his death. I am his mom. I am layering my perspective after his voice in each section of the book, followed by lessons learned and information about best practices supporting children and adults with mental health needs and their families across life stages and settings. This site will build on each of these voices, Aaron’s images and writing, “mom’s blog”, and resources to better support people in hard places.
