Occupations

This page will collect resources/links to support things you might like to do! Occupation is an old word for doing. Work is just one kind of occupation. Other kinds of occupation are leisure and play, self care activities, rest and sleep, and many more!

Artful OT If you are a creative soul and would like support to build those strengths, this is a YouTube site facilitated by an occupational therapist who is also an art teacher. She has videos to help walk you through drawing self portraits, tie die and more!

Kristen’s crochet tutorials This is a nice slow tutorial on starting crochet (she starts with a slip knot and chain, then demonstrates single crochet stitches).

TamboRhythms Drumming Group rhythm making is a great way to work on self-esteem/confidence, impulse/self-control/self-regulation, social participation, teamwork, taking turns, following directions, stress relief, and sensory-motor skills. Don’t have a drum, no problem! Gather some household object you can drum with (oatmeal container, book, table top).
